About

IRRI; Asia’s largest non-profit institute for agricultural research.

The International Rice Research Institute, IRRI in short, is an international research and training organisation that is part of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). As Asia’s largest non-profit institute for agricultural research, and also the largest rice research institute worldwide, IRRI focuses on developing new rice varieties and management techniques that can improve rice farmers’ yields in an environmentally friendly way.

The institute also plays an important role in training researchers from various countries and promoting knowledge transfer.

The challenge

Provide a high-quality solution for temperature and humidity control within the climate chamber(s).

IRRI approached us with a specific request: they were looking for a high-quality solution for temperature and humidity control within the climate chamber(s) of their research institute. In this context, they indicated that the challenge was to be able to simulate with both extremely high and low temperatures what was not possible with existing equipment.

Given IRRI’s goal of conducting tests of the highest quality in rice research, it was essential for IRRI to create an environment where optimal growing conditions could be maintained for the development of new rice varieties and management techniques.

Our solution

A state-of-the-art Climate system with the very smallest bandwidths in temperature and humidity fluctuations.

Our solution for IRRI involves the RevoMax, our state-of-the-art Climate system known worldwide as the benchmark for temperature and humidity control. The RevoMax stands out for its exceptional performance: it offers the very smallest bandwidths in temperature and humidity fluctuations possible in Climate systems as well as extreme temperature ranges from 3 to 36°C.

Thanks to our patented technology, we can achieve extremely gradual and precise control of both temperature and humidity, creating and maintaining a stable and constant climate even in the most challenging environments like Los Baños. This technical superiority translates directly into measurable benefits for IRRI, including improved experimental accuracy, consistent growing conditions for research and increased efficiency of their rice research processes. With our Climate system, they can now confidently continue their mission to improve global rice production and promote food security.

“Because of the Revomax, we have the most stable temperature in the market and therefore the greatest predictability and repeatability of our tests”
